Is your Breakfast Healthy?

Hi Friends, 

What breakfast do you normally eat in the morning?
  • Nasi lemak? 
  • Toasted butter bun?
  • Fried Bee Hoon with luncheon meat?
  • Hot dog bun? 
  • Curry Puff? 
  • Wanton Noodle? 
  • KFC or McD's breakfast?
  • with coffee/ tea to keep you alert?


Due to fast pace and rush hour in the morning, many of us may resort to one of the above list to fill up our empty stomach in the morning! 

However, are the above food healthy? **Ponder**

Let's see the below the criteria to unhealthy and healthy breakfast! 

Unhealthy Breakfast:

1. Smoked/ cured meat such as ham, bacon, sausage
2. Animal-based foods such as egg yolk, cheese, butter, cows milk
3. High calorie food such as oily foods (youtiao, hash brown, curry puff), nasi lemak, fried bee hoon)




I remembered there was one day when i brought my elder daughter to watch a movie, and in front of her was a cheesy hotdog offered to her, i was glad that she choose not to eat it despite of the temptation as she understand it's not a healthy food. =)

Excellence Breakfast Combination

How can we mix our Excellence Breakfast with Nutritional Immuonology Food ?

A basic Rule of Thumbs for a Healthy Breakfast : 

1. Quality Plant Protein from wholesome source 

Not soy isolate, or whey protein isolate 

(do check the ingredient label of the protein powder you’re taking) 


2. Rich in Fiber 

There is NO fibers from animal source eg cows milk, cheese, meat,  bacon, hot dogs…

Fiber is only found in wholesome plant foods

One of the best fiber sources are Psyllium Husk . 


3. Variety of Plant Foods 

Different plant food gives different nutrients, eg different antioxidants, phytochemicals etc.

Recently with the COVID-19 outbreak, we always heard of a term Social Responsibility

To me, as part of social responsibility , i can see how important role for me to educate my friends around me, to *break away nutrition misconception & endless medicine intake* that leads to vicious cycle .

We can achieve this by 1st starting with the MOST IMPORTANT MEAL of the day with RIGHT HEALTHY BREAKFAST.

Elead Expedition : Abu Dhabi Trip 2023 - Part 1

A lot of people asked me, how's my experience with my recent company's incentive expedition trip to Abu Dhabi 2023 ?

The answer is : Super Grand, Luxurious, and Adventurous (Many first time experiences)

Very grand and luxurious hotel (8-star hotel) that we're staying for 7 days 6 nights - 
Emirates Palace Hotel

The Restaurant where we had our luxurious meals and sparkling champagne for free during breakfast - called it champagne breakfast. 

The sand in the Desert Safari is superb nice and soft. Thank you company for preparing each of us, with a sparkling date juice. The feeling of seeing this magnificent and breathtaking scene was awesome . 

For the 1st time seeing camels and in the real desert . What an eye opening and excited about it. 

A great experience aboard a luxurious private yatch in the Dubai Marina , and enjoying the Arabian Gulf. 

We went visiting Ferrari World at Abu Dhabi. A worth trip since one and the only one Ferrari World is here!!!

Thailand Trip 2016 with family

I was excited as this trip is not an usual shopping and makan trip, but it's kinda adventurous as we are going to take many train rides!! haha 

In short, it's a 4D3N Thailand trip - a trip that aims to experience the Mother Nature and local people's life in Thailand.

Let me share some of the photos we took during the trip :) 

Day 1: Depart from Singapore by flight and arrive Bangkok 

on the plane

Reached the hotel at BKK 

Local foods at BKK 


Day 2: Started Train Ride to Kanchanaburi

We took local train travelling to western part of thailand outskirt, departing from BKK

As we need to travel for a couple of hours for the trip, need to prepare something to keep my girl occupied. =)

Reached Kanchanaburi and stayed for 1 night there - had a dinner nearby our hotel



Day 3: Continued with Train Ride to further Western part of Thailand and Return back to Bangkok on the same day

After about 7-8 hours of train ride, we were finally back to Bangkok City again! 

My girl was excited over big bed again!

Dinner at the hotel restaurant 


Day 4: Touring around BKK and flying back to Singapore 

Visited SEA LIFE Bangkok Ocean World - it was a fun tour, close to marine life. 





Throughout the entire journey, I definitely not forget to bring the E.Excel and eLEAD wholesome food products along too, which include the below healthy breakfast set:

Although the entire trip was a short and tiring one, it's fun and definitely an excellent exposure and experience for myself and my daughter and a family bonding time! =)

Her morning breakfast - Soy Milk

Nutrifresh as her breakfast 

Why did I introduce Nutrifresh? To give her a plant-based soy bean milk in hope to replace her formula milk which has many synthetic vitamin fortification. 

Why i choose soy milk rather than cow's milk?

Ingredients:

Soya bean + grape + banana + pineapple + asparagus + barley + broccoli + cabbage + cantaloupe + carrot + citrus peel + honeydew + peas + pear + peach + grapefruit + lemon + rice powder 

(No artificial coloring and preservative) 

Suitable for growing children from 6 months onwards.




I am glad she is GOOD with the taste!  :D 

Some parents may have concern of introducing many plant ingredients at one time. To me, i find it's okay to continue introducing as long as after first attempt she is not developing any allergies towards it. 

Furthermore, I have read that the latest AAAAI has come up with this recommendation on introducing allergen to infants:

This past January, however, the American Academy of Asthma, Allergy and Immunology (AAAAI) released a new set of recommendations on infant feeding practices to help prevent food allergy. The Truth About Calcium and Bone Health

 Myth:

Taking calcium supplements can prevent osteoporosis

In the past, I used to also think that if we want to boost our bone health, calcium pills are one of the convenient way.

However, understanding Nutritional Immunology helped me debunk my health myth about it.

The fact is that:

CALCIUM PILLS/ SUPPLEMENTS is NOT EQUAL to CALCIUM in wholesome plant foods.

Why?

  • Calcium is necessary for bone health, but supplements don’t significantly increase bone strength.

  • An analysis of 59 randomized controlled clinical trials showed calcium supplements increased bone mineral density by only about 0.6% to 1.8%. This is not enough to significantly reduce the risk of bone fractures. Research shows calcium supplements have minimal impact on fracture prevention or bone health.

  • The calcium does not magically go into our bones; it enters our bloodstream first. This can raise the risk of heart problems, kidney stones, and colon polyps!!!




The HEALTHY APPROACH to get Calcium to boost your bone health is :

1) Focus on calcium-rich foods

for example: Taking Wholesome Soy, which is rich in calcium (contrary to people's beliefs that soy milk has less calcium)


***Animal milk is not encouraged as high milk intake was associated with higher mortality
in one cohort of women and in another cohort of men, and with higher fracture incidence in women.

2) For an extra boost, include anthocyanin-rich fruits like blueberries, black goji berries, and cherries—these powerful compounds can help improve bone density and reduce osteoporosis risk.


3) Do weight-bearing exercises

Weight-bearing exercises simply mean activities where your body works against gravity while standing. These exercises gently stress your bones, signaling them to grow stronger and denser.
