Porridge with O-SEED - to give more Omega-3 for kids

Ever since my girl started taking porridge, as a parent, it comes naturally of how i can make my girl's meal more nutritious. 

Omega-3 has been well-known for brain development. 

Instead of giving fish oil, i used Kiwi Seed and Chia Seed form E.Excel wholesome food product O-SEED for the below reasons:

  • Very rich in Plant-based Omega 3, ALA
  • No fishy taste
  • No contamination 
  • No added preservatives or additives 

So, I have been giving my girl porridge with added O-SEED inside.


 
How a simple porridge with carrot turned out to be a nutritious one after adding O-SEED! =) 

She finished the serving happily! =)

I don't use fish oil omega 3 because:


  • fish oil may cause side effects such as indigestion, heartburn, abdominal bloating and unsafe due to ocean contamination.

I don't use flaxseed also as flaxseed has some safety concern:


  • mainly to the presence of toxic cyanogenic compounds that yield a weak, highly poisonous acid. 
  • flax seed contains trypsin inhibitors and a vitamin B6 antagonist.
  • The U.S. National Library of Medicine recommends avoiding flax seed during pregnancy and breast-feeding as flax seed can act like the hormone estrogen
  • The effect of flax seed on breast-fed infants is unknown at this time.
  •  Animal studies have shown the negative effects eating flax has on pregnancy and reproductive development. Flax seed might slow clotting. This raises the concern that it could increase the risk of bleeding in people with bleeding disorders.

Broccoli Quinoa porridge

Today woke up early morning and cooked for Han quinoa porridge. 


Ingredients:

Quinoa (1 small cup) 
Few pieces of broccoli 
Chia seed and kiwi seed from O-Seed

Used vege wash to clean the broccoli too remove any possible pesticide.

After feeding her millennium, I fed her the porridge. Glad she finished the morning serving! 😊

How to prepare Porridge with O-SEED

Today, I prepared Carrot Porridge for my 7 month old girl as her lunch! 

She finished up the porridge! 



Ingredients:
  • rice
  • carrot
  • a few pieces of broccoli 
  • 2 capsules of O-SEED (Chia Seed and Kiwi Seed) 

Why I choose O-SEED?
  • To get plant-based Omega 3 (from kiwi seed and chia seed) for brain development 
  • No fishy taste like fish oil
  • No ocean contamination 
  • Rich in fiber also 
  • To replace fish oil supplement

Recipe #1: Healthy Aromantic Macaron Recipe (English)

Healthy Aromantic Macaron Recipe 

Yields about 18-20 filled macarons 

Ingredients:

90 g icing sugar - fine grade. Recommended brands: SIS, Redman 
90g Super Fine Ground Almonds
33 g Egg Whites
90 g Fine Sugar
2 Teaspoon water 
33 g egg whites

Steps

1. Sieve together icing sugar and almonds with 33 g egg whites into a bowl to form a dough.






2. Boil the sugar and water in a pan to 118 degC, soft ball stage. 




3. Whisk 33 g egg whites at medium speed till white. 




4. Pour hot syrup from step 2 onto egg whites in the mixer.  Continue to whisk till cooled. 



5. Fold the meringue into almond mixture. Fold the whole mixture a few times more if it is too firm. 

6. Pipe batter into rounds of approximately 3-4 cm in a diameter using 10mm plain nozzle. Tap tray on the table to flatten the batter. 




7. Close oven door. Continue to bake a further 6 mins till the top is crisp and hard. 


8. Cook. Sandwich 2 pieces of macarons with the fillings below and chill.




9. Best savoured after 24 hr of filling. 



Chocolate Filling:

Ingredients:

80 g Dark Chocolate 
80 g Whip Cream 
3 packs Aromantic Powder 

Steps:

1.  Mix dark chocolate with whip cream using steam cooking method. 

2. Pour 3 packs of Aromantic Powder and stir evenly.

3. Cool it in the fridge for 20 minutes and take out to be ready as filling.

AGAR-AGAR MAKING using ENCORE and E-Sweet

Yesterday attended the EE Gathering and learned how to make agar-agar using EE products. I was so excited and decided to do it myself also at home.

Ingredients:
1. Raw Agar-Agar
2. ENCORE (Hawthorn, blueberries plant ingredients to nourish heart and liver)
3. E-Sweet instead of using white sugar (natural sweetener using Stevia leave, and will not increase blood glucose, therefore can be taken by diabetic people also)

The reason why choose ENCORE is because the taste of ENCORE is very nice - sour and sweet (the sweetness comes from Stevia leaves also) yet very nutritious.

The steps are as usual like how we prepare agar-agar. Only difference is that we have to wait until the cooked agar-agar water become more cooling, then only we pour the ENCORE paste into the agar-agar water and stir it well. Otherwise the nutrition of ENCORE paste will be destroyed by hot temperature of the agar-agar water.
