Wonders of Cactus - E.EXCEL Millennium Series & ELEAD Rhapsody

Cactus (Opuntia ficus - indica)

Cactus has anti-inflammatory effects

- Nopal cactus (Opuntia ficus-indica) has the potential to significantly reduce oxidative stress in the liver.

- Researchers have found that nopal-fed rats had reduced reactive oxygen species (ROS) levels and lower concentrations of malondialdehyde, a marker of lipid damage caused by oxidative stress.

- The effects are attributed to various bioactive compounds, such as the palyphenols isorhamnetin and kaempferol, which can directly neutralize ROS.

Cactus Reduces Inflammation and Helps Recovery From Hangovers

- Researchers explored how prickly pear cactus might reduce hangover symptoms by reducing inflammation.

- Volunteers were fed an extract of Opuntia ficus-indica, also known as prickly pear cactus. Overall hangover severity was moderately reduced, with a notable 50% drop in the risk of severe hangovers. The severity of hangover symptoms correlates with inflammation, which can be measured with C-reactive protein (CRP) levels. CRP levels were lower in participants who consumed the prickly pear cactus extract.

Cactus Can Help with Wound Healing and Reduce Inflammation

- This study investigated the effects of a polysaccharide extract from Opuntia ficus-indica cladodes on wound healing and inflammation in rats.

- Using a rat wound model, the extract was applied topically twice daily for 21 days, and it helped to reduce inflammation, improve tissue healing, and increase pain thresholds.

- It also enhanced fibroblast activity, blood vessel formation, and oxidative stress markers, demonstrating anti-inflammatory and healing benefits.

Protects Against Fatty Liver and Liver Inflammation with Cactus

- Non-alcoholic fatty liver disease (NAFLD) is a condition involving excess fat buildup in the liver, along with oxidative stress and inflammation.

- Studies in obese rats fed a diet containing 4% Opuntia ficus-indica for seven weeks showed significant improvements, including a 50% reduction in liver fat, lower markers of liver damage, and better regulation of insulin.

- These findings suggest that cactus may help reduce liver fat and protect against liver damage, making it a potential focus for future treatments for NAFLD.

Cactus Has Potential as an Alternative to Anti-inflammatory Medicine to Help Joint

Issues

- Extracts from Opuntia ficus-indica have shown potential as non-steroidal anti-inflammatory alternatives, effectively reducing inflammation and protecting cartilage in osteoarthritis. These extracts demonstrated promising results in vitro.

- In human chondrocyte (cells responsible for cartilage formation) cultures, the extracts reduced production of key molecules usually released in chronic inflammation.

- They showed better protective effects on cartilage than hyaluronic acid, a common treatment for joint issues.

Antimicrobial Properties of Cactus

- Campylobacter bacteria are a common cause of food poisoning in humans. People commonly get Campylobacter infections by eating raw or undercooked poultry.

- Extracts from the pricky pear cactus have strong antibacterial effects against Campylobacter jejuni and Campylobacter coll, reducing their ability to grow and stick to cells.

- Studies also show pricky pear cactus extracts can act against Vibrio cholerae (bacteria that cause cholera), disrupting their membrane and reducing their energy.

- These findings suggest prickly pear cactus could help prevent food contamination and treat gut issues caused by these bacteria.

Cactus Can Help Improve Mobility by Reducing Inflammation

Consuming nopal cactus fruit juice for eight weeks improved joint mobility, particularly in the neck, back, and hips, allowing participants to be more physically active compared to a placebo group.

- The juice reduced the impact of pain in daily activities, such as walking, sitting, and lying. It may also help with reducing inflammation.

- Overall, nopal cactus juice showed promise in supporting Joint mobility, physical functioning, and reducing inflammation, making it a potential natural aid for improving quality of life.

Cactus is Better Than Vitamin C Supplementation at Protecting Against Oxidative Stress

- Daily consumption of cactus pear fruit pulp for two weeks significantly improved oxidative stress levels in healthy individuals.

- Researchers compared the effects of cactus pear fruit pulp to vitamin C supplements.

- They found that cactus pear fruit greatly improved the oxidative stress status of their volunteers, such as a reduction in plasma markers of oxidative damage to lipids, and a higher concentration of antioxidants in plasma.

- Supplementation with vitamin C did not significantly affect the body's oxidative stress.

Cactus Can Help Lower Lipid Levels

- Researchers have found that consuming cactus pear fruit can significantly lower total cholesterol and LDL (bad") cholesterol levels, particularly in those with high cholesterol.

- Researchers believe this is due to the fiber content as well as its phytochemical composition, which helps in reducing oxidative stress.

Recover Faster From Exercise with Cactus by Reducing Oxidative Stress and Muscle

- Damage Cactus pear fruit can help reduce oxidative stress and muscle damage from endurance exercise.

- Researchers found that it could help decrease markers of muscle damage, such as creatine kinase and lactate dehydrogenase.

- It also helped to improve exercise performance and perceived fatigue and to lower oxidative stress markers.

Manage Blood Sugar Levels with Cactus

- Cactus cladode (leaf) can help manage blood sugar levels.

- Consumption of cactus cladode was associated with significantly lower serum glucose levels in healthy people, obese people, and people with type 2 diabetes.

- Some studies have shown significant changes in serum insulin in both healthy participants and those with type 2 diabetes.

Cactus Pear Fruit Can Help Support the Function of the Immune System

- Researchers have found that cactus pear fruit may reduce inflammation and support the function of the immune system.

- A two-week supplementation with cactus pear fruit significantly decreased pro-inflammatory biomarkers, such as C-reactive protein (CRP) and erythrocyte sedimentation rate (ESR). It increased levels of IL-10 (an anti-inflammatory cytokine).

- There was also an improvement in the balance of pro- and anti-inflammatory cytokines as well as the body's overall antioxidant status.

- The results suggest adding cactus pear fruit into the diet can help regulate immune system mechanisms, reduce low-grade inflammation in the body, and help reduce the risks associated with chronic conditions.

Cactus May Help Protect Immune Tissues and Cells

- Researchers exposed rats to chlorpyrifos (CPF), a pesticide, to cause damage to immune tissues and cells.

- The CPF reduced antioxidant enzyme activity and increased oxidative damage, resulting in DNA fragmentation, and damage to immune tissues and cells, particularly in the thymus and spleen.

- They found that Opuntia ficus-indica extract significantly mitigated these harmful effects. The cactus extract helped restore antioxidant enzyme levels, reduced the measures of oxidative stress, and helped lower the level of tissue damage caused by CPF.

- Research found improved histological changes in the immune tissues, suggesting that cactus may have a protective role against this type of immune damage.

Cactus Has the Potential to Prevent Inflammation-based Disorders

- Researchers studied the benefits of indicaxanthin, a type of betaxanthin found in cactus.

- In a rat model of inflammation, administration of indicaxanthin significantly reduced inflammatory cell recruitment, fluid buildup, and production of pro-inflammatory cytokines.

- In addition to this, indicaxanthin can also act at the gene transcriptional level to reduce inflammation by reducing the expression of genes involved in inflammation.

- Indicaxanthin inhibits the activation of NF-kB, a key transcription factor for the entire inflammatory cascade. This suggests that indicaxanthin has the potential to prevent inflammation-based disorders.

Cactus Can Help Manage Allergic Diseases

- Kaempferol, a flavonoid found in cactus, promotes immune tolerance.

- This effect occurs through enhancing the development of Treg (regulatory T cell)-a type of immune cell that regulates the immune system-by modulating dendritic cell activity through several key molecular pathways.

- By promoting immune tolerance, kampferol suppresses allergic inflammation.

- It has potential for reducing allergic inflammation and as a natural therapeutic agent for alleviating allergic symptoms.

Wonder of ABM Mushrooms - EExcel NUTRIACT and e-MUNITY

Foods are wonders.
Not because they look impressive, but because nature quietly designs them to heal, protect, and nourish us cell by cell, day after day.

Among these natural wonders is ABM Mushroom (Agaricus blazei Murill). Often called the “mushroom of life,” it has been treasured for generations not as a miracle cure, but as a gentle supporter of balance, resilience, and inner strength.

1. May help reduce inflammation

A two-year rat study has found that high doses of Agaricus blazei Murrill (ABM) were linked to longer lifespans, possibly due to reduced cancer rates. In humans, the extract reduced proinflammatory cytokines.

A different clinical study reported decreased inflammatory markers in individuals with ulcerative colitis and Crohn's disease after just 12 days of treatment.

These anti-inflammatory effects may also explain the mushroom's potential benefits in managing allergies, asthma, autoimmune diseases, and certain cancers.

2. May help relieve allergies

Studies in both mice and humans suggest that Agaricus blazei Murrill (ABM) extracts have strong antiallergic effects.

- In mouse models, ABM reduced allergic responses such as ear swelling and asthma symptoms. This effect was achieved by lowering IgE, IgG1, and bronchial eosinophil levels, and by promoting a more balanced Th1/Th2 response through the regulation of mast cell activity and T cell differentiation.

- In a human clinical trial, individuals with birch allergy and asthma who took ABM extract for two months before the pollen season experienced fewer allergy symptoms, reduced medication use, and lower IgE levels.

3. Protect against viral infections with ABM Mushroom

- In vitro, ABM fractions inhibited the viral effects of western equine encephalitis.

- In patients with chronic hepatitis C resistant to IF-a, oral ABM slightly reduced viral load and appeared to upregulate IFN-a receptor genes.

- These findings suggest that ABM's immune-stimulating properties may enhance the body's defense against viral infections.

4. Liver Function can improve with ABM Mushroom

- A one-year clinical observation suggests that Agaricus blazei Murrill (ABM) extract may help normalize liver function in patients with chronic hepatitis B.

- Among four patients studied, ABM supplementation led to a noticeable reduction in liver enzymes (AST and ALT), with three showing gradual improvement and one complex case improving after nine months.

- One patient also experienced symptom relief. Importantly, no side effects were reported, supporting ABM's safety as a supplement.

- Rich in B-glucans-compounds linked to anti-inflammatory and antiviral effects-ABM may also benefit individuals with type 2 diabetes and liver complications.

5. ABM Mushroom has strong Antioxidant Properties

- Research shows that Agaricus blazei Murrill (ABM) aqueous extracts can significantly reduce levels of reactive oxygen species (ROS) by interfering with ROS-producing enzymes and suppressing various reactive compounds.

- Evidence includes reduced superoxide anion formation, inhibition of neutrophil oxidative bursts, and decreased activity of oxidative enzymes like horseradish peroxidase (HRP) and myeloperoxidase (MPO).

- These antioxidant effects highlight ABM's strong potential as a pharmacological agent against oxidative stress and its promise as a valuable nutritional and pharmaceutical source of new therapeutic compounds.

6. ABM Mushroom can affect cytokine production

Agaricus blazei Murrill (ABM) extracts have shown notable effects on cytokine production, underscoring their potential in immune modulation.

7. Immune Modulation with ABM Mushroom

- Several studies have shown that Agaricus blazei Murrill (ABM) exerts antitumor effects through multiple mechanisms, including enhanced natural killer (NK) cell activity and the actions of B-glucans, which stimulate and regulate immune function.

- These immune-modulating effects may contribute to tumor regression and play a role in cancer prevention and treatment.

8. ABM Mushroom may help protect against Liver Cancer

- Polysaccharides from Agaricus blazei Murrill (ABM) can suppress the expression and activity of liver cytochrome P450 (CYP) enzymes, which play key roles in metabolizing xenobiotics and activating certain carcinogens.

- This suppression-likely mediated by cytokine release and modulation of the aryl hydrocarbon receptor (AHR) pathway-may reduce the formation of carcinogenic compounds and prolong the effectiveness of chemotherapy drugs by slowing their breakdown in the liver.

9. ABM Mushroom may help Kill Leukemia Cells

Researchers found that Agaricus blazei Murrill (ABM) can help kill leukemia cells (THP-1) by triggering a process called apoptosis, or programmed cell death.

- This happens through the buildup of reactive oxygen species, which activate a protein (mcJNK) in the mitochondria.

- The mushroom also reduces the activity of NF-kB, a protein that normally helps cells survive. By lowering NF-kB activity, ABM makes it easier for the cancer cells to die-similar to how some chemotherapy drugs work.

10. ABM Mushroom may help balance Immune responses

- Research suggests that Agaricus blazei Murrill (ABM) may help balance immune responses by shifting the Th1/Th2 profile toward Th1, thereby strengthening defenses against infections and possibly cancer.

- In Crohn's disease, which involves predominant Th1 and Th17 activity, ABM lowered levels of IL-2 (a Thi cytokine) and IL-17 (a Th17 cytokine).

- In ulcerative colitis-associated with a Th2-skewed immune profile-levels of Th2 cytokines IL-4 and IL-13 decreased after ABM intake.

- This immunomodulatory effect suggests that ABM may be beneficial in managing inflammatory and autoimmune-like disorders and might also have a role as an adjuvant in cancer vaccines.

11. ABM Mushroom may improve Quality of Life in Cancer Patients

- help maintain Natural Killer NK cell activity in gynecological cancer patients undergoing chemotherapy

- NK Cells are critical immune cells that recognize and destroy cancer cells

- Evidence suggests ABM may promote NK cell infiltration into tumors, enhance their ability to kill cancer cells, and trigger tumor cell death. In clinical settings,

- ABM extract intake during chemotherapy has been associated with improved quality of life, including better appetite, weight maintenance, increased physical strength, and reduced nausea, vomiting, and insomnia.

Weight management Myths

"I eat very little, and I am always hungry, but I still gain weight. I feel like I will gain weight even if I eat only air."

Have you heard of this?

Yes, Some people feel like they gain weight no matter what—even when they eat very little. They’re always hungry, frustrated, and wondering what’s going on.

It’s not just about how much food you eat—it’s about how many calories are in that food. Still back to the law of thermodynamics

Some foods are small in size but packed with calories—like chocolate bars. Others, like spinach, take up a lot of space but have very few calories.

So even if you eat a little of such high calorie food, you might still be getting more calories than your body burns.

To lose weight, focus on foods that are low in calorie density but still fill you up—like fruits, veggies, and whole grains.

Here’s the guide for daily calorie intake:

For normal female , to maintain our weight, daily calories intake should be kept at around 1800 calories , and male is 2200 calories, anything more than that, the person is putting on weight, anything less than that daily, start to lose weight.

Lets look at some example of foods , with high calories .

Here's the reference of CALORIE TABLE

Mooncake 975 calories. Meat dumpling 770 calories

Milkshake 1600 calories (already close to 1 day calorie intake for female). Frappucino 410 calories

Food with low calories, Less oily, like skinless chicken only 120 calories. Fruits and vegetables generally low in calories .

Here's a list of number of calories burnt during 1 hour exercise

Exercising is important — but let’s look at it from the perspective of burning calories.

For example, 1 hour of jogging burns around 350 calories, and 1 hour of yoga burns about 200 calories.

Now compare that to a single serving of French fries, which can easily contain 510 calories or more!

So if your goal is weight control, sometimes it’s actually easier to skip the fries than to spend an hour exercising to burn them off.

That doesn’t mean exercise isn’t important — it’s vital for circulation, muscle tone, mood, and long-term health.
But when it comes to managing weight, what we eat plays a far bigger role than what we burn.”

So after understanding the real truth of many of myths behind about losing weight, how to achieve a real, sustainable weight loss?

It is about understanding how your body works — and these three areas are key:

⚖️ 1. Calorie Management

🔥 2. Higher Metabolic Rate

🌿 3. Healthy Gut

.lets look into each of these

Take this example:
For a 30-year-old woman with a mostly sedentary lifestyle, the body needs about 1,800 calories a day just to maintain her current weight.

So what happens when this balance shifts?

  • If she consistently eats more than 1,800 calories, her body stores the extra as fat — leading to weight gain.
  • If she eats less than 1,800 calories, her body starts to burn stored fat for energy — leading to weight loss.

Sounds simple, right? But here’s the catch — not all calories are created equal.
A 500-calorie burger and 500 calories of vegetables or whole grains behave very differently inside the body.
One clogs and inflames; the other nourishes and supports metabolism.

So calorie management isn’t just about eating less — it’s about eating right.
Choosing nutrient-rich foods helps your body feel full, balance hormones, and maintain steady energy levels — which makes weight loss sustainable, not stressful.

Weight loss besides than calorie counting, its also about burning more.

And what helps you burn more, even when you’re not exercising?
👉 Your muscles.

Nourish your bones and joints with wholesome plant foods

For women past 40, health issues like osteoporosis, osteoarthritis, and muscle weakness often become a growing concern.

Many people turn to common approaches such as:

  1. Drinking cow’s milk
  2. Taking calcium pills
  3. Taking glucosamine supplements
  4. Consuming cartilage dishes or collagen drinks

However, these are not ideal nor truly healthy solutions for long-term bone and muscle care. In fact, they may bring hidden harm:

  • Cow’s milk – can actually cause calcium to leach from the bones and increase osteoporosis risk. It also contributes to chronic inflammation.
  • Calcium pills – may raise the risk of heart disease, kidney stones, and colon polyps.
  • Glucosamine pills – could increase insulin resistance and heighten diabetes risk.
  • Collagen drinks/cartilage dishes – animal collagen or cartilage cannot directly replace or rebuild human collagen or cartilage.

That’s why it’s important for women to re-think bone and muscle health beyond these conventional methods — and explore safer, more effective approaches that truly support long-term strength and mobility.

In fact, mother nature already provides the essential nutrients needed to protect and strengthen our bones and muscles — through wholesome plant foods.

Here are some:

Wholesome Soy – naturally rich in protein and calcium, helping to strengthen both muscles and bones.
Look at the below chart, in fact, soybean has more calcium compared to cows milk.

Plant foods rich in glutamine – such as brown algae, alfalfa, ginger, spinach, parsley, acerola cherry, and cactus. Glutamine helps stimulate the body’s own production of glucosamine, which is then converted into glycosaminoglycans — the key building blocks of cartilage.

Black Goji Berries – packed with anthocyanins, which not only promote bone health but also support bone formation and help prevent osteoporosis.

To make these powerful plant foods easily accessible in daily life, NI Foods offers great convenience with:

  • SOYPRO – made from wholesome soy and Jilin ginseng.
  • GojiGarden Series – combining black goji berries with rose/ yuzu/ osmanthus.
  • GojiGarden Coffee – a unique blend of premium coffee beans with black goji berries.
  • G-ART - made of brown algae, alfalfa, ginger, spinach, parsley, acerola cherry, and cactus.

With the right nourishment from nature, women can safeguard their bones and muscles while staying healthy, strong, and active well beyond 40.

Why Women should rethink Collagen Drink

🌸 The Antioxidant Secret to Radiant Aging: Why Women Should Rethink Collagen Drinks

Aging gracefully isn’t just about looking good—it’s about feeling vibrant, strong, and confident in your own skin. For women, especially, the journey of aging can be deeply personal. And while collagen has become a buzzword in the beauty and wellness world, it’s time we take a closer look at what truly supports our bodies from the inside out.

💪 Collagen: The Foundation of Youth

Collagen is the most abundant protein in our bodies. It’s essential for:

  1. Skin elasticity and hydration
  2. Strong bones and joints
  3. Healthy eyes, muscles, and cartilage

But here’s the catch: the best collagen source isn’t found in a bottle—it’s produced by your own body.

🧪 The Truth About Animal-Based Collagen Drinks

Many collagen supplements on the market are derived from animal sources—fish, bovine, or porcine. While they promise youthful skin and joint support, the science tells a different story:

  1. Once consumed, animal collagen is broken down into amino acids, just like any other protein. It doesn’t remain collagen in your body.
  2. These amino acids don’t guarantee collagen production unless your body has the right nutrients and conditions to synthesize it.
  3. Some products are highly processed, contain additives, or lack transparency in sourcing.

In short, animal collagen drinks may not be as effective as they claim.

🌿 The Antioxidant Advantage: Nourish Your Body Naturally

Instead of relying on external collagen, support your body’s natural collagen production with powerful antioxidants from plant-based sources. Antioxidants help:

  1. Protect cells from oxidative stress, a major contributor to aging
  2. Stimulate collagen synthesis
  3. Improve skin texture and elasticity

Some of the most potent antioxidant-rich foods include:

  1. 🌹 Rose – rich in polyphenols and vitamin C
  2. 🍒 Cranberry – supports urinary health and skin vitality
  3. 🍓 Raspberry – packed with ellagic acid and anthocyanins
  4. 🌵 Cactus fruits – hydrating and anti-inflammatory

✨ Introducing Rosytime: A Wholesome Antioxidant Blend

Rosytime is a plant-powered solution crafted from nature’s finest antioxidant sources—Rose, Cranberry, Raspberry, and Cactus Fruits. These ingredients are helpful to:

  1. Support your body’s natural collagen production
  2. Promote skin radiance and joint health
  3. Offer a gentle, nourishing alternative to synthetic supplements

💖 Self-Care Is Not Selfish—It’s Foundational

As women, we often pour our energy into caring for others. But true wellness begins with caring for ourselves. When we prioritize our health, we show up stronger, more present, and more empowered in every role we play.

So let’s embrace aging with grace, wisdom, and vitality—starting from within.

Nature’s Arsenal Against Cancer

🌿 Nature’s Arsenal Against Cancer: Phytochemicals, Antioxidants & Polysaccharides

Cancer prevention isn’t just about avoiding risk factors—it’s about actively fortifying the body’s natural defenses. Emerging research continues to spotlight the powerful role of plant-based compounds in disrupting cancer pathways, protecting cellular integrity, and enhancing immune surveillance. Let’s explore three key bioactive groups and how they contribute to cancer prevention:

1. Phytochemicals: Nature’s Molecular Shields

Phytochemicals are non-nutritive plant compounds with potent biological activity. Found abundantly in cactus and other botanicals, they:

  1. 🛡️ Disrupt cancer formation pathways by modulating enzymes and signaling molecules involved in cell proliferation.
  2. 🚫 Inhibit tumor growth by inducing apoptosis (programmed cell death) and preventing angiogenesis (formation of blood vessels that feed tumors).

💡 Rhapsody

Rhapsody harnesses the power of cactus, a plant exceptionally rich in phytochemicals like flavonoids, alkaloids, and polyphenols. These compounds work synergistically to block carcinogenic processes before they take root.

2. Antioxidants: Guardians of Genetic Integrity

Antioxidants neutralize free radicals—unstable molecules that damage DNA and trigger mutations. When oxidative stress overwhelms the body’s defenses, it can lead to cancerous transformations.

  1. 🧬 Prevent cell mutation by stabilizing reactive oxygen species (ROS).
  2. 🔬 Support DNA repair mechanisms and reduce inflammation.

💡 Rosytime

Rosytime blends cactus fruits, raspberry, cranberries, and rose—all antioxidant powerhouses. This vibrant mix floods the body with vitamin C, anthocyanins, and ellagic acid, helping to preserve cellular health and prevent mutation.

3. Polysaccharides: Immune System Activators

Polysaccharides, especially those derived from medicinal mushrooms, are known to:

  1. ⚔️ Boost Natural Killer (NK) cell activity—the immune cells responsible for identifying and destroying cancer cells.
  2. 📈 Increase NK cell function by 38–49 folds, enhancing the body’s ability to eliminate abnormal cells before they proliferate.

💡 E-munity

E-munity is a potent blend of ABM mushrooms, Shiitake, Maitake, and Cordyceps mycelium. These fungi are rich in beta-glucans and other polysaccharides that supercharge immune surveillance and response.

🌟 The Takeaway

Cancer prevention is no longer a passive hope—it’s an active strategy.

By integrating Phytochemicals, Antioxidants, and Polysaccharides into your daily routine, you empower your body to fight back against cellular threats.

Rhapsody, Rosytime, and E-munity aren’t just supplements—they’re made of wholesome plant foods - your frontline allies in the pursuit of vibrant, resilient health.
