EE Family Day - Part of Fund Raising Charity Project

I have been looking forward to this day to arrive - EE FAMILY DAY!

It's a special day for me for the following reasons:

1. Bringing my 1.5 year-old girl to Sentosa for the first time with my husband

2. Being the volunteer to help out in the EE Food Stall for fund raising project

3. Enjoying the meaningful day as part of E.Excel Big Family

So the day had finally arrived.

On 6-Jun-2015, it's a beautiful saturday afternoon!

We arrived the place Port Of Lost Wonder, POLW earlier, at 3pm although the admission time is 4pm.

The Palawan Beach is so beautiful with the pre-set up of E.Excel tents.

The EE Stall set up.

We arrived earlier to help out in the EE stall.

Together with other E.Excellers as the EE volunteers, we took turns to prepare and sell foods and drinks using E.Excel wholesome food products at the EE Stall.

  • Sandwiches - with Evernew and VegeColor to make the jam
  • Drinks - with Triflora, Aromantic, Orchestra
  • Muar Chee - with Nutrifresh added to the peanut

The response was good!! Many visited the stall =)

After helping out in the EE stalls, I joined my husband and girl for the rest of the family day programs.

My girl was so excited to play in the water playground and refused to come up!

I missed to take photographs for her in the water playground!

After drying up, she started playing on the field and enjoying the foods! =)

Successful Fund Raising!

For the Entire Family Day, a total fund of $38,899 has been successfully raised to Community Chest to help support the necessary projects such as
  • Children with special needs to reach potential
  • Adults with disabilities to integrate into society
  • Relationships of families in difficulty to stay strong
  • Elderly to age gracefully in the community

E.Excel has actually brought a group of less privileged children joining the event too!

With the help of the volunteers and donations of food coupons, the children had enjoyed their day also!

I have donated food coupons to them also,

Coming to the end of the event, it's an exciting moment - Lucky Draws!

I was lucky enough to win a lucky draw and brought back the following prizes! =)

After the lucky draws, it was followed by Children's performance at stage!

The entire Family Day event ended with a stunning fireworks at around 8.30pm!!

Everyone was very happy including my family members!

It was indeed a very joyful yet meaningful day!

Thanks E.Excel for having us and providing me the platform to contribute back to the society.

Plant A Tree Program

It's a meaningful charity project in E.Excel - Plant A Tree Program.

On a beautiful sunday morning on 12-April-2015, we, a group of volunteers went to the destination place in Singapore to carry out our volunteer task of planting 50 trees there.

The objective of planting trees there is to make the place (mangroves) to become a nature reserve in near future.

Here we started.

After demonstration by the local in charged who are expert in tree planting, we selected a small tree and started our task!

1. Carrying the tree to the spot

The small tree itself carry some weight also. Can you imagine it required min 2 persons to carry together!

2. Digging a hole

The hole cannot be too shallow or deep, but be just nice! Digging task with the heavy tools is not easy also especially for ladies.

Really thankful to Meg and Jenny who helped in the whole process as I can't really do the above job as expecting my 2nd child =)

3. Putting the tree into the hole

4. Watering the Tree

Final procedure - watering the plant!!! I can do this job! =)

It was a SUPER HOT day! Everyone was sweating profusely!

However, we had a sense of satisfaction after seeing the small tree has been planted here!!!

Not only 1 tree, but there are a total of 50 trees planted here in this project!!

Thanks to E.Excel for giving us a precious and meaningful opportunity to make the world a better place to live!!

Our tree, please grow well! We will come back to see you in near future! =)

How Can I Contribute back to the Society?

Yesterday I had a conversation with my husband that what we want our child to be like when she grows up.

We then talked to the point which we want her to contribute back to the world.

To my husband, even giving a smile to people is also considered making the world better as lightening up a person's day with a beautiful smile. I agreed also. Ha Ha

After we reached home, I was arranging my piles of letters and happened to see the below letter from SASCO.

It was an appreciation letter from SASCO which thanked me for my monthly donation to them in 2014.

It's a little help that comes from my heart which I hope I can help the poor elderly in Singapore to have a better place to live in. =)

I hope I can do more to contribute back to the society.

"Making The World A Better Place 丞心传爱,让世界更美"

I believe all of us have dreams but the less fortunate one have to work even harder to achieve them.
In carrying out its mission “To share the gift of health and knowledge with mankind”, E.Excel also hoped to touch and improve the lives of the less privileged. E.Excel has brought hope and a helping hand to many less able but high-spirited members of the world community.
This year, E.Excel is partnering with Community Chest (http://www.comchest.org.sg/comchest) to aid the frail and lonely elderly and children with special needs to warm the hearts of the elderly and to help children with special needs to be as independent as possible.

1.       Towner Gardens’ School
2.       Bright Hill Evergreen Home
They are organizing a charity dinner to raise donation for these less fortunate one.

The details of the dinner are as follow:
"Making The World A Better Place with E.Excel 丞心传爱,让世界更美"

  • Date: 14-Sep (Saturday)
  • Time: 7.30pm -9.30pm
  • Venue: Resorts World Sentosa West Ballroom
  • Details: An 8-course of dinner with performances presented by E.Excellers and Towner Gardens’ School children
  • Language: English and Mandarin (Bi-lingual)
  • Open to the public, anyone can participate
  • TIcket price: $168

On 22nd July (Mon)

I personally visited the
Towner Gardens School together with other E.Excellers

These children are intellectually impaired with autism or down syndrome. Some look still very small with their actual age, for eg look like 8 years old but in fact they are 16 years old already.  When I try to talk to them, most of them cant understand. I can see that it takes patience to take care of these children. Imagine how challenging the parents/ care givers who take care of them daily? Indeed we need to be thankful that we or our children are really fortunate to be born normal and healthy.
Some of these children have their inborn talents for eg drawing, dancing. Some of their art work and dance performances are impressive.
The school’s motto is to provide a vibrant environment that inspires the students so that they can be independent and integrate to society when they grow up.
You can find out more about the school from the below link: http://www.minds.org.sg/tgs/index.html

On 3rd August (Sat) morning

I visited the Bright Hill Evergreen Home together with about 40 other E.Excellers also.

We held a birthday celebration for the 7 birthday old folks. About 50 other old folks (60 to 80's yo) turned up, they are all on wheeled chair. I learned that all of them don't have any family or relatives to take care of them. They all left alone. I was asked (adhoc) to be the emcee to host the small celebration event. We cheered them up by giving them gifts, singing karaoke to them etc. For the 2 hour-session (9am to 11am), I hoped that they enjoyed the moments with our presence. Although it was a tiring morning for me (as a pregnant lady), since standing during the whole session and woke up early in the morning 6am to get ready, it was still worth my effort as it's done for the charity.

Some E.Excellers brought along their children together during the visit too. Some children are just kids, as young as perhaps 5 years old. I asked why bring them along. They told me it's good to expose the young generation to the less fortunate ones so that they can learn to be more caring to the society and be humble. Indeed, i can see that they are very yong xin liang ku in bringing up their children and shape the right character of their children since young.
More info about Bright Hill Evergreen Home:
There will be another visit to Bright Hill Evergreen Home on 24 August.
Looking at all these less fortunate one, I feel that we can help them to achieve more. In fact, they need our help. We can make a difference in their lives with our contribution.
